StarTrak Overview

StarTrak Systems, LLC, a Delaware limited liability corporation, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alanco Technologies (NASDAQ: ALAN). With headquarters located in northern New Jersey, StarTrak has been a leader in providing wireless data solutions since its formation in 1998. The company's primary focus is on delivering advanced wireless monitoring and control solutions for many industries with emphasis on refrigerated transport, railroad, and specialty freight. The company's current solutions are improving the efficiency and operations of refrigerated trailers, trucks, containers, railcars, general purpose railcars, bulk transport trailers, barges, generators, compressors, and oil field equipment. StarTrak's operations center in northern New Jersey manages wireless equipment deployed world-wide, including North America, Australia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

StarTrak is focused on delivering solutions that help revolutionize customers' operations, leading to enormous benefits in efficiency, predictability and quality. The company has delivered world-class information technology solutions, based on wireless asset monitoring, for many of the world's most prestigious industrial and freight companies. StarTrak, a pioneer in providing intelligent wireless monitoring devices, has become one of the world's foremost experts in providing integrated freight information systems.

StarTrak is a successful leader in its marketplace by having developed the capability to define and specify solutions optimized for customer's applications. The company provides vertically integrated technical resources, including project management, engineering development, software, firmware and hardware engineering and applications delivery using a highly qualified, experienced technical team.

StarTrak was the original provider of railcar monitoring solutions, focused on applications for the Class I North American Railroads. In 2000, StarTrak entered the refrigerated rail car monitoring business, enabling BNSF Railway to economically justify the purchase of a new fleet of refrigerated railcars for the first time in 40 years. This activity, in cooperation with Carrier Transicold and Thermo King, resulted in a revitalization of the refrigerated railcar and intermodal trailer business, as the technology helped transition temperature controlled freight from road to rail transportation. Today, StarTrak provides a significant share of the refrigerated rail, intermodal and container monitoring services deployed in North America, and has created the foundation for a broader range of applications being deployed with truckload carriers, private and lease fleets, food distribution and dairy/grocery fleets. It also remains a leader in general purpose railcar solutions, and provides a range of highly capable products for a variety of other industries. StarTrak's solutions are flexible and adaptable for use by customers with information delivery accomplished using a variety of methods including Internet, advanced two-way data interface and solutions integrating customer data and wireless information. StarTrak provides customers with the proper context of information so that customers can optimize their operations.

With the merger with Alanco in 2006, StarTrak has supplemented its position as one of the largest companies in its space with being one of the best capitalized. StarTrak's goal is to leverage its solutions with its existing customer base to provide the most advanced, capable wireless monitoring solutions available worldwide.
