StarTrak Completes Simmons Foods ReeferTrak® Fleet Deployment
Simmons Fleet to Utilize StarTrak's New RAMP™ Data Services Network
Morris Plains, NJ - April 19, 2007- StarTrak Systems, LLC today announced that its StarTrak Systems subsidiary has completed delivery of its ReeferTrak® wireless solution for GPS tracking, monitoring and full-authority management of refrigerated trailers to Simmons Foods, Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Simmon's fleet-wide deployment of over 100 ReeferTrak® systems utilizes StarTrak's new Refrigerated Asset Management Platform (RAMP™ ) data services network, which provides enhanced system data management capabilities.
"The StarTrak ReeferTrak® solution has certainly made our operation more lean and efficient," said Dick Bolen, Director of Fleet Operations, Simmons Foods. "We operate 107 reefer trailers within a 100-mile radius between our locations and cold storage facilities. We pull approximately 50 loads per day, all drop and hook, and it was very difficult to keep track of our trailers manually. We also track our service schedule with StarTrak. The system sends us fault codes and alarms if the unit has any sort of problem and we can take corrective action before a serious situation occurs. Maintenance and repair savings alone will pay for the system, and the convenience of managing the fleet from a desktop is an added bonus. We are able to do yard checks from our desk and we love having the ability of controlling the unit functions remotely. Service and support from StarTrak has been outstanding, and we plan to add more StarTrak units in the future as we add trailers."
Tim Slifkin, StarTrak's CEO, commented,"Our ReeferTrak® two-way command and control solution is unique in the industry and provides customers like Simmons Foods two-way access to the microcontrollers of reefers produced by both major transport refrigeration OEM's. Simmons Foods operates different makes and models of reefer equipment, similar to most reefer operators. StarTrak's ReeferTrak® solution is compatible with all OEM models, providing StarTrak significant advantage in the rapidly growing market for wireless reefer management. The addition of our new RAMP data services network also enables StarTrak to substantially enhance our customers' reefer management information systems."
